Week of 04/16/2012

Grades 5 through 8 are using Microsoft Access to create a database.

Grades K and 3 are learning about multi-media. We are using Microsoft's PhotoStory application.

Grade 4 continues to learn about word processing. They are using Documents in Google Docs.

PreK-04 continues to learn using www.starfall.com and www.abcya.com, using the Kindergarten learning activities! They use the "peace sign" and "we're #1", for the keyboard command to get to the login screen and to the logoff screen!

 Ask your child about Netsmartz and go to the "Parents & Guardians" part of www.netsmartz.org to learn more about Internet safety. Also, check out Netsmartz411, http://www.netsmartz411.org/, '.. online resource for answering questions about Internet safety, computers, and the Web.'

Two web sites that the younger students are using are 

A great way to augment a student's learning: http://www.khanacademy.org, The student's Google Apps login is used to login to the Khan Academy web site.

 Check out the Education "category" in the Apple App store, for a plethora of free and pay-for apps that help in learning. The apps are used on iPod Touch and iPad devices.
