Grading

Students in Fourth Grade through Eighth Grade will receive grades for tests
and quizzes, keyboarding, projects, class participation, and classroom
behavior. Grades will be assigned as follows:

4 - Student has demonstrated FULL MASTERY (100%no errors) in the subject
matter taught (for tests/quizzes) or succesful completion of ALL
requirements for an assignment (e.g., for research projects) per the
instructions provided.

3 - Student has demonstrated a SUBSTANTIAL MASTERY (80-99%) in the subject
matter taught (for tests/quizzes), or successful completion of 80-99% of the
requirements for an assignment (e.g., for research projects) per the
instructions provided.

2 - Student has demonstrated a MODERATE MASTERY (70-79%) in the subject
matter taught (for tests/quizzes), or successful completion of 70-79% of the
requirements for an assignment (e.g., for research projects) per the
instructions provided.

1 - Student has FAILED TO DEMONSTRATE ADEQUATE MASTERY (0-69%) in the
subject matter taught (for tests/quizzes), or successful completion of less
than 70% of the requirements for an assignment (e.g., for research projects)
per the instructions provided.

I expect students to pay attention in class, take notes in their copy book
AND REVIEW THEM between classes. I make every effort to provide the students
with sufficient information, including dictated notes and study guide
handouts, as well as make myself available during student's lunch recess,
before school, and after school to meet with students who feel they need
more personal instruction on topics with which they are having trouble. I
expect the students to be responsible for seeking me out for additional help
if needed, and I hope that parents will be able to find time to help their
student review notes, study, etc.
