FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. Does my child need a snack?
  2. Does my child need something to drink for snack?
  3. Should I mark my child's clothing items for winter?
  4. Will my child receive a report card in kindergarten?

Does my child need a snack?

Yes, every day! A simple one-item snack (like a cookie or a banana or grapes) is best.
Please put it in a baggie so when your child puts it in our snack box every morning, it is easily
identified at snacktime. ( I have provided one marked with your child's name.)

Does my child need something to drink for snack?

This is your choice. Milk is available from the school if you pay by the semester. You
may send a juice, milk or water with the snack. (Please no soda pop.) There is always
a drinking fountain available in my room.

Should I mark my child's clothing items for winter?

Yes, it is a very good idea. The lost-and-found box is always full of things that "no one
recognizes"! If a name is on it, there is no question.

Will my child receive a report card in kindergarten?

Yes, but our schedule is somewhat different from the other grades. Kindergarteners receive report
cards only 2 times a year. So your child will not get a report card the first 9-weeks or the third 9-
weeks. Parent conferences during those times are scheduled to update you on your child's
progress, needs and success in the kindergarten curriculum.
