Math Work

We have completed Place Value, Reading & Writing Numbers, and Uses of Numbers.
Now we are Comparing, Ordering, and Rounding Numbers.

                    ***MASTERING MATH FACTS***
All third graders will be practicing their math facts nearly every day,
beginning with addition and subtraction.
If your child does not meet their daily goal, he/she will need to practice the
facts on that worksheet for 5 to 10 minutes that night to be ready to pass it
the next day (PLEASE SIGN & return).

We will also be writing in a Math Journal to solve word problems .

   Let's practice math 10 - 15 minutes a day.

Count to 50 or 100 by 10's, 5's, 2's, or 3's.
Take the Ace - 10's out of a deck of cards, turn up two cards and add or
subtract them.
Count a handful of change.
Ask what time it is and what time will it be in 10 minutes.

Have fun!

Games like Skip-Bo, Racko, Mancala, & Connect Four practice skills like
sequencing and thinking using a strategy.
