Biome Presentations
The students have worked very hard for two weeks creating their Biome Presentations. The process included research using the Internet, constructing a presentation as a group using Google Docs, and public speaking using notecards. I have just loaded a picture on my Wiki Page of the afternoon class presenting to Mrs. Kopac's room (my homeroom presented to Mrs. Poeppel's room). The students first presented for their classmates.
I was very impressed, especially by students who were nervous about presenting to a public audience.
Year End Survey
Every year the students take an online survey to help me assess how effective I was as their teacher. I also invite parents to take the survey, as I use the results to make adjustments to my teaching each year. The surveys are confidential, so please be honest. The students will take the survey some time this week.
Final Grades
I will soon post the students' final grades on the website. The number of math grades is lower than previous quarters because I doubled up science instruction to make up for the double math instruction they experienced before the PSSAs.
We will review some math these last couple of days, enjoy a nature hike (probably Monday), and do some fun and delicious hands on experiments in Science.
5th Grade Send Off
Wednesday, June 8th is our 5th grade send off party. We sent notes home with the students today. Volunteers are still needed, while my homeroom is responsible for sending in drinks. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Enjoy the beautiful weather....we earned it!
