Mr. Parker's News

PSSA Workbooks

Monday, the students received their PSSA workbooks to help them prepare for the tests on April 12 - 16.  (There is a picture of one in the picture I just uploaded.)

They are required to complete 2 lessons per week, but they can do more for extra chances in our annual PSSA classroom raffle.

Each year some students do many extra lessons and they almost always perform the best on the tests.  Completing the lessons gives the children a lot of confidence to do well.

Google PSSA Review!

I have added a picture of students working on Google presentations today in class.  To help review for the PSSA tests, we reviewed probability spinners, 2d geometric shapes, and linear geometry (lines, rays & segments).

The students first had to sketch ideas including each concept and then transfer those concepts into a presentation.

Ultimately, the students created very creative slides that demonstrate their understanding of the reviewed concepts.  If you ask your child to log onto Google Docs at home, they can show you their handy work.

Have a great weekend!
