I have been teaching first grade for 15 years and it is the most
challenging grade that I have taught. As many of you know, I started out
in the high school teaching Drivers Education and Health. After a few
fun years I was transferred to the elementary school where I taught
Science and Health in 6th grade. Every year I get student whose parents
I have taught before. Most of the parents I had in 6th grade and high
school not in first grade. I'm not that old YET. I am getting there though.
I have been married to the same wonderful guy for 28 years and we
have three beautiful children who seem to have grown up overnight.
Kelly is my only daughter and she will be 26 years old in February. She
is the director of group fitness at Southern Methodist University in Dallas
Texas.
Brian is my oldest son. He is 24 and works for a company in Pittsburgh called
Educational Management Corporation. He signs up students for online classes
at South University.
My baby, Scott, is now 20 years old and is a junior at IUP where
he majors in Health and Physical Education.
My life is very busy, but I love being a teacher, a mom and a wife.
I enjoy having all of your children in my class and hope to be around a
few more years to enjoy all the students to come.
