Written messages to school must be received from parents for:
1. Absence - The note must tell the days and dates of
absences and reason for absence. This note is to be signed by parent or
guardian and presented to the homeroom teacher upon the child's return to
school.
2. Not wearing regulation uniform. This is only for
out-grown or damaged items, medical reasons or loss due to fire or flood. It
is only for short term need.
3. Going home by another line or means of transportation
than usually used.
4. Not going outside for recess or at noon time. This
must be only to make up work or for health reasons. Federal wellness
guidelines require children to be involved in movement and exercise for a
substantial part of the school day.
5. Lateness - Child is to report to the School Office
stating the reason for his/her lateness. Child will receive a late slip which
is then given to the homeroom teacher. Do not report to the classrooms until
going to the School Office for the late slip. Going to the classroom first
will only increase the amount of time you must make up.
6. Early Dismissal - Note is to be given to your
homeroom teacher who in turn will send it to the Main Office. If you do not
bring a note, your parent must write one when they arrive to pick you up. This
is for your safety. Children will remain in the classroom until called for
over the P.A. System. No one will be permitted to take you from school unless
their name is on your Authorized Pick-up Form on file in the school office.
7. Any child who is unable to participate in the Gym Class
is to bring a note from the parent/guardian indicating the reason for their
non-participation. Only medical reasons are acceptable. Again, this is part
of the federal Wellness Program requirements.
