I have been teaching Pre-school/Kindergarten for 28 years.I have taught
kindergarten at PJPII for a total of 19 years. I returned 8 years ago to
teach 3rd grade for a year and returned to my true love Kinder 7 years ago.I
love the activity level of the Kinder room. My co-teacher Mrs. Effie Svokos
and I work well together and enjoy the children.
My husband Tom and I have four great children- three girls and one boy.
Erin graduated from Cabrini ,Lauren graduated from Shippensburg and
Caitlyn will start her 4th year at Penn State this Fall.
My son is now in 8th grade in PJPII and he loves PJPII. Tom and I are
thrilled with the education that our son is receiving at PJPII. I am thrilled
to be teaching at PJPII . The Faculty and Staff are the best!
The children and parents are the best gifts of all! Thanks for making my job
fun.
I have several goals for my classroom. The first goal is for every child to
feel loved, enabling them to build their self-esteem. The second goal is to
provide opportunities in which the children develop gross motor skills, fine
motor skills, math concepts,language arts and social behavior.
My philosophy of education correlates with the goals I have for my
classroom. The students are expected to take an active role in their
learning. The classroom is child-centered and active. The children are
engaged in meaningful activities, working individually and in small
groups.Centers are used and reflect the theme being studied. Individual
growth is the goal.
