Hello !!
We had a wonderful time at our Halloween celebration. The food was great and
the crafts were a lot of fun.
We are working on all four math operations so please make sure that your
child knows their basic addition and subtraction facts - NO COUNTING ON
FINGERS. Right now we are up to the 4 times table. Flash cards work well
anywhere. I also recommend internet websites to reinforce multiplication
skills. Some I have posted on this website, but I am exploring other viable
options.
Please remember to follow the nurse's suggestions to keep your child home
after fevers or vomiting. This really has a tremendous affect upon our
general classroom health. Also, I would appreciate it if you would continue
to send in the cleaning wipes. We clean our desks every day and the wipes go
fast.
As I mentioned at the "Back To School" night, the reading vocabulary and
spelling words are very challenging in this new reading series. I think it is
good. Your children have unlimited potential and they need to be challenged.
If they pay attention during lessons, they should not need to study vey much.
Some students have been coming to school tired. Please make sure they get to
bed early. If they can't eat breakfast, send something in for them to eat
when they get to school. I want them to have energy and have no problem with
them eating when they get to school. I understand that it is hard to eat so
early in the morning.
Your children are so full of life, and I truly leave drained every day trying
to keep up with their unique personalities. I am very blessed to have all of
them in my life!!
I look forward to the holidays (can it really be November???) I love to share
my traditions and memories with your children and they have many, many ideas
and experiences to share with me.
Be healthy and safe.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Figorski
