Happy Valentine's Day!
By now your child has chosen a person to write about for "Black History
Month". A link to use for information is www.blackhistory.com - (any
appropriate link for information is fine.)
Our Valentine's Party will be on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 and all helpers
have been contacted. Valentine cards are an optional addition to this
celebration. Children may bring in the cards as long as there is one card for
every student in the class - 25 Total. Also, names do not need to be put on
the outside of the envelopes.
I will have a bag for each child to store their cards. We are really looking
forward to a fun time.
To celebrate President's Day, please guide your child while they explore
the "Wonderopolis" sites listed on the "President's Day" webpage of our
classroom website. They are required to answer the questions posted (on the
web page)in their Social Studies Copybooks by Friday, February 17, 2012.
Please let me know if there are any questions.
ONE EXTRA REQUEST TO ALL WHO ARE ABLE!!!! I have posted a questionnaire
regarding homework assignments on the "Homework Questionnaire" page of this
website. Your input will allow me to reevaluate homework assignments.
Thank you,
Mrs. Figorski
REMINDER
Please note that the children have Spelling/Vocabulary homework every night
from Monday until Thursday on the "Spelling City" website. The nightly
homework schedule is posted on the "Spelling City" tab located on the left
hand side of this web page. It is also taped to the inside front cover of
their "Assignment Books".
Also, please use "First in Math" every night for at least 10 minutes to
practice timestables.
If there is no computer available or a problem with the one that is used in
your home, please indicate this by jotting down a note in the "Assignment
Book" or leaving me a phone message. Your child can use the classroom
computer as soon as he/she arrives in the morning to complete the assignment.
There may also, occassionally, be written homework in Spelling.
