December is here!!!
Monday, November 30, we had our Santa's Secret Shop! It was a great success.
The children all seemed to have a great time shopping, coloring, and talking
with friends. Thank you to all the mom's and 8th grade helpers who made this
run so smoothly!!
Report cards will be issued on Thursday, Dec. 3. Please sign the
envelope and return it to me. You keep the report card.
This Sunday is the feast of St. Nicholas. We will be greating some fun art
projects this week to help us celebrate with special feast day. St. Nicholas
will visit here on Friday since we will not be in school on his feast day!!!
The children will leave their shoes in the hallway and see what special
surprises are left for them.
Monday the teachers have an in-service day so there is no school for the
children. Tuesday is the feast of the Immaculate Conception and a holy
day. Therefore, there is no school. Wednesday and Thursday we will be
in school and will have parent/teacher conferences. Friday is a day
off for the children. Please remeber that all confrences will run 10 minutes.
If you are unable to make your confrence time please contact me.
December is a very busy week for us here at school. I am sure it will be the
same for most families at home. Enjoy the wonderful, joyful season. I know
it's my favoirte. The children will be very excited to participate in all the
fun activities here at school. After this week, there is only one other full
week of school before Christmas break!
Thank you for all those who are able to participate our Sharing the Gift of
Reading activity. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Reminder we will be finishing our second reader next week. This means the
children will take their Unit 2 Reading Assessment afterwards. Grades will be
posted before Christams Break. Please continue to practice Sight Words over
the holidays. They will be retested in January.
Happy Holidays to all!
