Thanksgiving projects for grades 1, 2, 3, and 4 were completed and sent home.
Kindergarten students are exploring the keyboard. They are using the pointer
finger of their right hand only to key color words and the words mom and dad.
They have learned that the only the thumb is used on the space bar and the
pinky finger on the right hand is the only finger that touches the enter key.
Grade 1
Students have learned the home row and how to use the enter key to start a
new line.
Grade 2
Students have learned how to use clip art and print preview as well as keying
several keys that are not part of the home row.
Grade 3
Students continue to work with the UltraKey program to learn keyboarding.
Grade 4
Students continue to improve keyboarding skills with UltraKey, have learned
header and footer, landscape orientation, basic computer terms and reviewed
use of clip art.
