West Chester University. She has dual certification in Elementary
Education and Special Education. She has been teaching for about 28 years
and she has taught in the following capacities: teaching adolescents with
behavioral difficulties in a private school setting, teaching a full time
primary learning disabilities class, a learning support resource room
teacher for grades K-3, and later for grades K-6.
When the Pennridge School District embraced the Instructional Support
Initiative in 1990, Mrs. Phillips was the first Instructional Support
Teacher in the District trained to fill the position. She has been in the
position ever since and thoroughly enjoys what she does.
Mrs. Phillips "wears several hats" at Deibler. In addition to being the

state standardized tests are below 50%. Mrs. Phillips also serves as the

Phillips also provides PSSA math remediation support 1x a cycle for sixth

When she is not in school, Mrs. Phillips loves spending time with her
husband and children.
Instructional Support is a systematic intervention planning process for
students who are at risk of school failure due to learning, behavioral,
and/or social difficulties. The primary goal is to identify a student's
instructional needs and to provide specific support necessary for school
success.
Instructional Support is a collaborative, systematic approach to student
success!
