Foods & Nutrition

This is a hands-on unit for 7th and 8th graders in which students have the opportunity to prepare 
foods in cooperative groups.  Emphasis will be on kitchen safety and basic cooking techniques.  In 
addition to food preparation, the class will also focus on the USDA Dietary Guidelines and how to utilize 
the information to make food choices that support a healthy lifestyle.
