The mission of St. Francis Academy is to nurture the spiritual, moral,
intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth of each student by
providing a positive learning environment where each student is valued and
accepted for who they are and for who they will become. As a Catholic School
founded in 1743, we are a faith-centered community committed to the teachings
of Jesus Christ. Our efforts are directed toward helping each student build a
strong faith and academic foundation to prepare them for service to the
community and to the world.
We believe that:
• We are responsible for the development of the whole child—spiritual,
moral, intellectual, emotional, social and physical.
• Our Christian values should be reflected in our teaching and in our
daily lives.
• Religious instruction emphasizes love for God and for one another as
Jesus taught.
• Prayer and scripture guide children to a deeper faith and personal
relationship with Christ.
• Every individual has inherent worth and every child should learn to
value and accept others.
• Every child can learn.
• Children learn best when a variety of teaching methods are used.
• Children need to develop an awareness of how their actions affect
themselves and others and develop responsibility for their actions.
• Education must prepare each student for his or her place in life.
• Education is the shared responsibility of the school and the parents.
