First grade students will be given homework Monday - Thursday.
Monday -math, spelling, vocab
Tuesday- math, reading
Wednesday- math, reading
Thursday- math, reading, religion
Friday - No homework
This will only be for a normal 5 day week. During 4 day weeks homework will
be shifted.
Religion homework will be given every Thursday and does not have to be
turned in until Monday. Please read the chapter and complete the chapter
review.
Spelling homework will be sent home on Monday. Please have your child write
their words in their notebook. Every sixth week there will be a review test
given which will consist of two words fromeach of the past five weeks.
Math homework will be sent home every Monday-Thursday unless a change in
schedule or when a chapter test is given in class.
Reading homework will be given Tuesday-Thursday. Tuesday - read the story in
their hard reader. Wednesday- read paper book and sign it. Thursday - read
book in folder and sign reading log. There will not be any books in folders
sent home during the fifth week in each of our hard reading books (Time for
Kids story). During the sixth week there will not be any reading homework.
The students will be given a unit test during this week.
Vocabulary homework will be sent home on Monday please practice the words I
will evaluate them on Friday. Please send back the notebook on Friday.
During the fifth week there will not be any new vocab words. The students
will be tested on all of the words for the entire book. During the sixth
week the students will be given an oral reading test.
This homework should not take longer than 20 - 30
minutes to complete.
