4B Homework Policy:
Student Responsibility: All students are expected to
*put forth their best effort on their homework. It will not be accepted if
it is sloppy. Print will not be accepted unless otherwise stated. Students
are expected to write in cursive.
*do assigned work on their own and only ask for help when they have tried
first independently.
*be responsible for the assignment (not misplacing it)
*turn in all assignments on time.
Teacher Responsibility: I will check all homework and return it in a timely
manor. Because I strongly believe in the value that positive support plays
in student self motivation for developing study habits, I will give students
encouragement and offer helpful feedback. I will also explain any questions
students may come across.
Important Person at Home Responsibility: You play an important role in
making homework a positive experience for children. Therefore, I ask that
you:
*make homework a top priority.
*provide necessary supplies and a quiet home environment.
*set (and attempt to stick to) a daily homework time.
*offer praise and support.
*not let children avoid homework.
*contact me if you notice a problem.
If students choose not to do their homework, I will talk with them to make
sure they understand the assignment. They will be given recess time to
complete the assignment with my assistance. If the problem persists, they
will be subject to one of our classroom consequences, including but not
limited to contacting you and discussing possible solutions.
Each assignment is worth 2 points (unless otherwise stated). If the
assignment is incomplete or missing at the time of collection, the student
loses both points. The student can earn one point for completion by handing
it in to me the next day. I will not accept homework later than 2 days from
the time of the due date.
