READ to your child every night! It is the best kind of homework and the most
fun!
PRACTICE printing your first and LAST names correctly! That means to begin
your special name with a capital letter and all the other letters are
lowercase.
Practice buttoning and zipping!!!! Try shoe tying!
All Homework will be sent home in the BLUE FOLDER. Please return it there
too! Please try to have your student do his or her homework paper the night
it is given and send it back the next day. We are now doing homework 4
nights a week. I keep reminding the children that homework is their job,
just like going to school.
On Monday, you child will get a reinforcement page for homework of the skills
that we are doing in class AND their list of spelling words to look over.
On Tuesday, the Spelling Notebook will come home for your child to write each
word from that week's spelling list 3 times.
Wednesday will be a regular reinforcement homework page and studying the
week's words.
Thursday, the Spelling Notebook will come home again for your child to write
each word in a simple sentence.
Please remember the following:
* The children must print his/her name on each paper.
* Color your homework!!
* PLEASE USE A PENCIL FOR PRINTING AND CRAYONS FOR COLORING.
* Ask your child if there are any verbal directions. These extra
verbal directions will help build memory skills.
* Parents should sign the top of each homework paper.
