Book Report Assignment
The children will be assigned a Place Mat Book Report that will be completed
at home. They will need to choose a chapter book to read. When they finish
the book, they will take a 10 question online quiz testing their
comprehension. I will need to approve the book to make sure that I have a
quiz for the book they've selected. Most Scholastic books are available.
They will then fill out papers writing the characters, setting and a short
summary of the book on a paper fork, spoon and knife. On a plate they will
neatly draw and color a picture showing a favorite scene from the book. The
completed plate, spoon, fork and knife papers will be due in school on
Wednesday, Jan. 27th. We will assemble the placemat together in school.
Instructions along with the blank papers will come home in the Wednesday
folder on Jan. 6th. This will count as a reading grade.
The students have begun working on their Reconciliation book. Inside the
front cover is a Confession format paper. Please make sure that your child
can say the Act Of Contrition Prayer that is listed on that paper. We say it
every day at dismissal but some of them still don't know it word for word.
Reconciliation is quickly approaching! Also, don't forget the Parent Meeting
for 3rd graders receiving sacraments this year. It is on Tuesday,
Jan. 12th. The time has changed. It now starts at 6:45 PM. You will be
given your date for First Communion along with other important information.
At least one parent must attend for each child. This is a parents only
meeting.
