Thank you to all the parents for the Teacher Appreciaation Breakfast on
Thursday. The food was delicious, such a nice treat. We played the candy fill-
in-the-blank game you gave us! The children had fun helping me complete it!
All you do for our school is very much appreciated.
Conferences are Monday, Feb. 8. No school for students that day!
Our Valentine Party will be on Friday, Feb. 12 in the afternoon. Thank you to
the parents who offered to send in goodies. A class list was sent home.
They may also send valentines to friends in A1 and their "Fancy Friend" from
Unit D.
We made valentine placemats and candycane hearts for our friends at
Manatawny Manor.
The 100th day of school is fast approaching.....time to start thinking about
what to bring in for the "100 Day Museum." Each child will be bringing in 100
of "something". It should be creatively displayed! Some ideas are
stickers,cereal,pennies,rocks,candies,pasta.....anything small enough to be
displayed on a poster or in a box. Please label with their name. The entire
school will come tour the museum! We'll let you know the exact date when it
is closer. At this point it will be after Valentine's Day, I just wanted you
to have time to plan ahead.
As part of Mrs. Kalil's Social Studies curriculum we are learning about
Community Helpers. If you have a job you would like to come and share with
the first grade, contact myself or Mrs. Kalil to schedule a time!

We have started a "Mystery Reader" program in First Grade. If you would like
to come and read to our class, please email or send me a note and we'll work
out a time. The children have really been enjoying our mystery guests.
