"So much to do, so little time to do it all!" One of my favorite quotes, any
one want to guess where this quote comes from???
Email me, your guess!
Well, Happy New Year! Thank you all for the very generous monetary gift and
the many thoughtful gifts that the children bestowed on me! I am always
overwhelmed by the generosity of our Saint Aloysius Families! Thank you!
Upon returning to school, we re-evaluated our goals from the fall, and then
set New Years Resolutions which would help us to reach our goals from the
fall, adjust our goals, decide that they were not right for us or for some,
set new ones as they had achieved the goal from the fall.
On January 22nd, our homeroom planned and delivered the Pro-Life Prayer
Service. Each of the students prepared and practiced, providing the whole
school with a beautiful service to remember and pray for those faced with
many difficult decisions. I was so proud of them!
And as the days march on, we find that we are at the end of Catholic Schools
Week! What a week it was!! "So much to do......so little time..."
The Kick-Off Mass was fantastic with many of our students shining, Open
House followed, to showcase all of our work of the last few weeks.
Monday started with the generous collection for our Birthday Boxes---what
great people our kids are---they assembled with care, two fabulous boxes that
were added to the School Collection and then donated to Coventry Food Bank.
Tuesday we were thrilled to be able to have our unit C "Ro and the Rockers"
play for grades K-6. It was a short (8 min) concert but they were fabulous!
And then we were off to a rousing game of Academic Jeopardy!
Wednesday provided Open House and lunch with your parent and grandparent,
with a special Healthy Chocolate Torte for dessert. And then we were all off
to The St. Blaise Prayer Service with the blessing of the throats.
Thursday brought a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, once again your
generosity is overwhelming!
Thursday afternoon brought our CLUB DAY! Each teacher prepared for an
afternoon of club activity: Mrs. Nester a Spanish Club, Mrs. Fuga did a 24
club, Mrs. Coccia did a 5th grade Cooking Club which made a Vegetable Pizza
Mrs. Wieand (me!) did a 6th grade Cooking Club we made a Fruit Pizza and a
Cheese and Veggie Pizza. It was a fabulous day!
Friday, we were all dressed in our Catholic Schools Week T-Shirts compliments
of Mrs. Merrit and the Parents, only to have the threat of SNOW cancel our
excursion to the Bowling Alley! We were very disappointed, but handled it
with superior grace! This event will be made up at a later date!
Our week was a great success!
Now onto the future, Conferences are on Tuesday for those who scheduled a
conference, the students in Unit C are of course off. And of course we are
off next Monday for Presidents Day!
Valentines may be brought in any time after Wednesday! You can find a list
of ALL of our clasmates in the Directory. If not let me know! I have asked
my homeroom to bring a valentine for everyone in their homeroom, so that no
one might be slighted. We will once again enjoy a little time together
celebrating Valentine's Day!
