Circle Time:

Religion:
  • Children will learn about God and His Creation, Jesus - His life and death, and our own specialness
  • Religion book pages will be sent home
  • Mass:  go with Parents on weekends, with Reading Buddies in school.  Stress behavior.
Math:
  • Numbers, geometry, addition, subtraction, time, measurment, fractions, etc.
  • Math booklets will be sent home upon completion
  • Worksheets will come home
  • Worksheets will be sent for homework.  Please be sure they are completed correctly and neatly.
Reading:
  • Big Books. little books, library books
  • Sight words - small books with words on each page
  • Phonics
  • Writing - illustrations
  • Kid Writing - children write what they hear and use words at their disposal
  • Spelling
Children are read to every day in school.  Please read every day at home.
 
Printing:
  • Finger exercises
  • Letter formation.  Encourage neatness at home.
  • Numbers.  Encourage numbers facing correct way.
Specials:
  • Library on Wednesday..  Library books are to be returned every Wednesday.
  • Gym on Tuesday.  No jewelry, especially earrings
  • Music on Wednesday. Two shows - Christmas and End of Year
Listening:
  • Say things once
  • Have child repeat.
Aides:
  • 9:00 to 12:00 (Can vary)
  • fill out and return form
  • need Police Check and Child Abuse clearance and attend Protecting God's Children class. 
Behavior:
  • Classroom - Bears.  Please return and keep in folder
  • No hitting or pushing - automatic red bear.
Star of the Week:
  • Each child gets a turn
  • Children discuss qualities of that child, draw picture for booklet.

Peacemaker of Month

  • Only 9 picked
  • Award given at Monthly Mass
Snacks:
  • Pretzel money - 25cents (Send weekly if possible)  Can pay twice a year. (See School Website)
  • Something small and nourishing
  • no juice
  • Not too much as time is limited
  • pack snack in lunch box - tell child
  • CARES should be in separate bag. 
  • Don't pack more than your child usually eats.
Birthdays:
  • Send in small snack - possibly healthy.  Pencils, fruit roll ups, etc. are fine.
  • No cupcakes
  • You can come in to read a book to the class.  Please send a note before so that time can be set up.

 

Classroom Items Needed:

  • Tissues
  • Zip-Lock bags (zipper type) large and small
  • Clorox Wipes
  • Wipes 
Hot Lunches:
  • Sign up on the website
  • Must be returned on time, no late orders taken.
  • Two napkins every day
  • Send in a drink on hot lunch days.

Homework:
  • Will be on the website

    Folder is to be checked every night.  Papers should be removed unless stamped  "to be returned"..  Bears stay in folder.

Book Orders
  • Highlights:  not encouraging purchase.  Signature with the "NO" checked will enable us to get classroom items and books.
Children will not be allowed to change dismisssal routine unless a note is sent.
Homework must be  checked and signed.
 
Be sure your child knows where to go if school closes - neighbor, friend, etc.  (Early dismissal for weather, etc.)
