Classroom Rules and Regulations

Our Rules:
1. Always be respectful of everyone and everything. (We combined most of the
rules we came up with into this one rule. We also illustrated what respect
is and placed our illustrations around our rules to remind us.)
2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on when you have a question or
   something to share.
3. No cheating or lying.

Our Rewards:
*Whole Class
-For every time the class shows exemplary behavior, a marble will added to
the class marble jar. When the jar is filled, the class will be treated to
  a movie and popcorn afternoon.
*Individual Rewards
-When a student shows exemplary behavior, they could receive verbal positive
  feedback, stickers, or an award.
-If a student has not spent any time in our class "penalty box", by the end
of the week, they will get an extra 5 minutes of snack/recess time to use as
they choose. Also, stickers and awards will also be given at this time.

Our Consequences:
*As mentioned above, we have a class "penalty box". Our penalty box is a box
drawn on the board. If you break a rule, your initials get put in the box.
If you contine to break the same rule, you get check marks after your name.
-For the first check mark, you lose 5 minutes of your snack time.
-For the second check mark, you lose all of your snack time.
-For the third check mark, you lose all of your snack time and get a note
      or phone call home.
*Loss of snack time does not mean that the child does not get a snack.
Student will still be allowed to eat their snack and use the bathroom,
but will not get the free time the other children get.
*Also, when a child receives a check mark, they are expected to fill out
a behavior reflection form. This forms asks them what rule did they
break and how can we work together to make sure it doesn't happen
      again.
If a rule is broken in a severe manner (ex. violence, etc.), the student will
be sent to the principal's office immediately.

*These rules we have created and agreed upon as a class. We worked
hard to create them and make them the best rules for us as fourth grade!

Classroom Regulations and Procedures:

Daily classroom procedures:
*Morning work is posted every day and is to be done QUIETLY and immediately
after unpacking.
*Students are to make sure that their pencils are sharpened during morning
work because they will not be allowed to sharpen them during class.
*Bathroom use - students are to use the bathroom during snack, lunch, and
immediately after lunch. Students are never to use the bathroom during
direct instruction and may only use it during class time if it is an absolute
emergency.
*In regards to our classroom library, students are allowed to bring the books
home. Please make sure you are careful with them, though, and bring them all
back.
*Homework is to be written down for morning work every day. If you do not
finish writing it down during our morning work time, you will have to finish
writing it down during snack time.
*During snack time, children are allowed to bring a snack and drink. I don't
require a towel or napkin, but I do ask that if the desk is left sticky or
messy that the children clean it up with a wipe. Also, I ask that students
remain at a desk until they are finished eating.
*Students are to keep their desks neat and orderly. All papers need to be in
their appropriate folders - papers do not just get shoved into the desk!

Special Instances:
*If you wish to bring in a treat to celebrate your birthday, please make sure
that you have enough for everyone and please try to make it a healthy snack
to share. These can be handed out during a.m. snack time.
*Please do not have your student return to school after being sick unless
they are fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours.
