MISSION STATEMENT
Each child has been created by God as a unique individual needing a secure,
caring and stimulating environment in which to grow. An essential part of
the first grade program is to help with the development of the whole child,
socially, academically and spiritually.
The children in first grade are heterogeneously grouped and exposed to a
structured environment that encourages cooperation. In the area of Religion,
the children learn basic doctrine and prayers on a daily basis. In the area
of Integrated Language Arts, the children learn to approach reading through a
combination of phonetic skills, creative writing and exposure to different
forms of literature. In the area of Mathematics, the children are taught the
basic concepts of addition and subtraction. Problem solving and critical
thinking are also an integral part of the program.
We strive to set a good example for the children on a daily basis as they
continue to grow closer to Jesus each day.
