I have been the librarian at St. Philip Neri School since 1998.
Belonging to the parish since 1952, I graduated from Saint Philip Neri School.
I graduated from Archbishop Kennedy High School and earned a BA in Elementary
Education and Mathematics from Marywood University. I continued my education
by earning a MS in Library and Information Sciences at Villanova University.
I am certified in the Wilson Reading Program (a complete curriculum for
teaching decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling)words.
I have taught for over thirty years. Starting my teaching career at Saint
Mary School, I taught Grades 5-8 Math for one year. Returning to Lafayette
Hill, I joined the faculty at Saint Philip Neri School where I taught Grades
1-8 for twenty years. I then moved to the library. I am also available to
tutor children of all grade levels in Math and Reading after school and during
the summer.
I share my love of reading with the students in the library and through
involvement with the Montgomery County Reading Olympics.
My book reviews have been published in Catholic Library World, the journal
for the National Catholic Library Association.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, travel, and all needle crafts, especially
quilting.
To provide students the opportunity to become life-long learners by
developing a love of books and an understanding of how to use the library.
