5th Grade Families, We are working hard in grade 5. Please encourage your child to write down their assignments and to take time to go over his/her work each night. Each child needs to learn how they need to study and prepare for tests and other assessments. If you have any questions or concerns please be in touch. Catholic Schools week was a great success. Thank you to our Student Council and teachers for working so hard and making it a fun and productive week. We are a great school with very special kids!!!! During Terra Nova week, we are promoting our peaceful initiative program by focusing on some activities centered around the theme of peace in the afternoons after testing. We are selling special T-shirts for the kids to wear in the afternoons all week while involved in different activities with their grade partners. We are working hard to instill and create a peaceful environment in our achool community. This is a perfect time to focus on this theme. The 6th grade is collecting gently used jeans to be distributed to those in need through the Aeropostale Stores. Please look through your child's and your own jeans and send in any that you just don't wear anymore. We continue the program First in Math. Please encourage your child to go online as often as possible and complete the activities. Many will help them with mastering their basic concepts and build on previous skills. The kids are really enjoying the program!!!!! We are working on our unit on fractions and mixed numbers. Many of our students struggle with the concepts because they don't know their times tables. Please work with your child and have them master their tables. I see many of my sudents becoming very complacent and careless with their work. The winter blahs have arrived!! Remind your child that it is their job and responsibility to work hard and complete assignents not only in a timely way but also take pride and complete them correctly. Challenge your child and make them think about things that are happening around them. Make them solve problems and come up with solutions. Thanks for all you do!!! God bless and may God's peace be with you all!!!! Terry Antenucci
