Welcome to my webpage. I am the homeroom teacher for sixth grade - room 19
at Saint Philip Neri School. I teach Religion to both of the 6th grade
classes, ILA to my 6th grade homeroom, and Social Studies to both of the 8th
grade classes.
I am a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany (B.A.) and
Columbia University (M.A.). I obtained my Pennsylvania elementary education
teaching certificate after completing graduate courses at Chestnut Hill
College. I have been teaching for over ten years, including seven years as
the 8th grade teacher at Holy Martyrs School in Oreland.
I live in Saint James parish in Elkins Park with my husband, Jim. We are very
proud of our two daughters, Julia and Maureen. Julia works in New York City
as an art director for an advertising firm and Maureen is a senior at Temple
University.
I believe in respecting each child and helping each one develop his or her
God-given gifts. To accomplish this, I strive to:
• Create a classroom environment based on Christian values and love of
learning;
• Positively motivate students to develop personal and social responsibility;
• Encourage students to challenge themselves and to learn from mistakes;
• Guide students to work together respectfully and effectively;
• Encourage students to think critically and creatively;
• Use technology to help students connect what they are learning to real-
life situations.
