What is necessary to volunteer at Saint Philip Neri School?

Parents and guardians are very welcome to offer their time and
talents to our school. To volunteer, you must submit a
Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check, a Child Abuse Clearance and
attend a Safe Environment Training Session. All adults who
regularly come in contact with the school children as a computer
or library aide, a permanent lunch monitor, a coach or a scout
leader must fulfill these requirements. Once obtained please
submit the clearances and verification of attendance for the
training session to the principal. There is a website on
my "Links" page to download the forms and schedule the training
session.

Who determines when the children go out for recess?

We strongly encourage outside recess both in the morning and at
lunch. The early childhood and primary teachers make the decision
for their individual classes for morning recess. The principal
and lunch room coordinator determine whether the children go out
at lunch recess. Unless it is raining, frigid or extremely
windy, the children must be prepared to go outside at recess.

embarrassed, threated, harassed, or otherwise targeted by another
person using the internet, interactive and digital technologies
(like instant message/IM or transmitting voice, photo, and

What are Conversations with the Principal?

The purpose of these informal sessions is to listen to your hopes
and ideas of how I can better serve you. This dialogue which
occurs in the spring is not meant to be a gripe session. It is
meant as a conversation between school and parents on how the
school can increase its value to students and parents. I make no
promises other than to say I will listen, and be open and honest.

It is important to me that we strengthen our partnership and move
forward together with a shared vision. Please take the
opportunity to attend one of these conversations.
