Are you ready for Peace Week? Peace Week is the week of March 5th. Wear your t-shirt every afternoon of the week! During “Peace Week”, we will participate in grade-partner activities to promote a peaceful environment within our school community.  ORDER YOU SHIRT BEFORE WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH.  Order form in weekly communication.

We are getting creative with our online story-making on Storybird.com!  Check out your friends' stories and leave them a positive comment about their great work!

Please don't forget to check your child's behavior calendar each night.  It is my way to communicate daily progress related to work or behavior.  They get a boost of confidence when you praise them for working hard.  :-)

We are enjoying our literature circle book this week, Here We All Are by Tomie DePaola.

Please check if your child needs pencils, tape, or any other supplies.  At this point of the year, they tend to run out.

The sixth grade is going to do a one-week service project in conjunction with Aeropostale, the clothing store in the Plymouth Meeting, King of Prussia, and other area malls, called Teens for JeansStarting today, they are accepting gently worn jeans in any size and/or color.  Once they get them, they will wash and refurbish and distribute to LOCAL teens (and kids).  A flyer will be put in the weekly communication. The class that brings in the most jeans will receive 25% off coupons for Aeropostale. We will collect until Valentine's Day.

The Book Fair  is open on Sunday after Masses, and next week until after school on Thursday.  Our class will definitely have time to go to the book fair during their library time on Wednesday.

*You are doing well with First in Math! Keep up your great work and have fun!  The student who earns the most stickers on a given day will be honored as the F.I.M. VIP the following day.  On Monday, the student who earned the most over the weekend, which includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, will be honored on Monday.

EVERYONE WINS...Students in 3rd Grade AND in Malawi! During Advent, the Student Council sold paper ornaments at lunch to raise money for Father Mike in Malawi.  The goal was to raise $175, which would be enough to send a child to school in Malawi.  Through the efforts of the 3rd grade students combined, we won a pizza party! Way to go 3rd grade!! The Student Council raised enough money to send 2 students to school.  The date of the pizza party is on Tuesday, February 14th.

As the school year progresses, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail as I check my messages frequently. My website is my primary source of information so please check it often for updates. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance throughout the year. I believe the teacher, parent, and child create a great team that promotes SUCCESS!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Serwinski
