Welcome to my web page. I am a graduate of St. Joseph's University (GO
HAWKS!!!) with a degree in Elementary Education.
I have been teaching in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for more than 25
years with 17 of those years teaching second grade at St. Philip's.
My husband, Jim, and I have 3 daughters, Amy, Lisa and Beth who also attended
St. Philip's. My daughter, Amy is married with 2 little boys: TJ and Owen and
baby girl, Hannah.
I enjoy traveling to Baltimore to spend some time with my children and
grandchildren. I also like to read and work in the garden in the summer.
Our mission in second grade is to inspire the children to be the best they
can be. Our favorite word is TRY/EFFORT. We strongly encourage the children
to make an effort in all aspects of their learning: academically, socially,
emotionally, and morally. We try to foster not only a sense of community, but
also one of independence and responsibility.
It is also our mission to bring the children closer to God. We want them to
see and feel Jesus in their words and actions. We prepare the children for
the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. This is a very
special year not only for our students, but also for us teachers as well. It
gives us great joy and satisfaction to watch the children meet Jesus in these
two blessed sacraments.
