Homework is a very important part of Third Grade. It reinforces daily
concepts and teaches responsibility.
Students will list daily homework assignments in an agenda book provided
by the district. The agenda book will be brought home daily and is expected
to be returned to school on a daily basis. They will also be provided with a
Roadrunner folder for homework pages and/or any other important papers. This
must also be returned to school on a daily basis.
Please encourage your child to complete nightly assignments
independently, but feel free to assist them as needed. Please also take a
few minutes to look over your child's homework before it is returned to
school. Our goal should be for students to complete and return their daily
homework assignments consistently and what they return should be high-quality
work. I will briefly look over all assignments when they are returned or we
will review the homework together in class. Homework will be returned at my
discretion so that you will not
need to manage so many papers.
There will be no assignments given during the first week of school.
Parents-please use this time to fill out and return any paperwork sent home
during the first week. Also, please read the school handbook that will be
sent home. There is a form inside of it that needs to be removed, signed,
and returned. Agenda books will begin coming home on Sept. 6th.
Homework assignments are due daily. NO EXCUSES!! Students missing an
assignment will come home with a Missing Assignment reminder note. They are
expected to complete and return the work the next day. Work that is not
complete given the additional night, will be completed during recess. If
students are absent from school, please contact the school office for their
missed assignments. They will have three days upon their return to make-up
missed assignments. Should they not complete the assignments during the
three day window, they will be required to complete the missed work during
recess.
If you have any questions regarding homework assignments please don't
hesitate to contact me by phone, email, or send a note in with your child.
It's important that we work together to make homework a meaningful extension
of what your child is learning during the school day. Thank you in advance
for your support with homework!
