Do I have to go to the PTA meetings?

No, you don't have to attend the meetings, but it is a great way
to meet other parents and find out what is going on in your
child's school. It is also a great time to give your input. We
are always looking for new ideas!

What does the school receive for collecting BoxTops and Campbell's Soup Labels

By turning in BoxTops for Education that are found on hundreds of
food products, our school receives 10 cents for each box top.
Turn these into your homeroom teacher ~ there is always a
contest going on and your child's class will get credit.

Campbell's Soup Labels are just as important. Every label counts
as at least one point and we are sent a catalog full of different
school items from supplies to computers that we can purchase with
our points. If you have a question on how to correctly cut a
boxtop or soup label, check the links on the PTA webpage.

Do I need to do anything special if I want to volunteer in the school?

If you will spend time in a classroom setting as a volunteer, you
will need to submit a background check and child abuse clearance
form to the state. Allow six weeks for these to be completed and
returned. They must be kept on file in the office once they are
returned.

Why must the PTA fundraise?

The PTA has a budget of over $30,000 for the current school
year. This budget includes paying for ALL assemblies, ALL Field
Trips, book publishing, money for school clubs, teacher
reimbursement, insurance, monthly family event activities, school
store, Reflections program, RIF, Shafer Clothing, craft day, and
more. Your support of our fundraisers is critical to our fiscal
well being. You may view our budget on this web page and any
further questions can be answered by any officer.
