Hello!
Can you believe we’re over halfway through third grade already? We’re getting ready to celebrate our 100thday on February 6; time sure does fly by when you’re having fun! The month of February is going to be busy as we begin preparing for the PSSA tests. The boys and girls are continuing to impress me with their ability to complete assignments and become independent learners. Please be sure to check out your child’s agenda book each night with assignments and other special events. Don’t forget that homework and weekly spelling words are also listed here on my webpage. Feel free to check out our Class Calendar link with any special events that may be coming up this month. As we work through these long, winter days please take the time to sit down with your child and have him/her read to complete their Book It calendar. Also, multiplication facts need to be practiced now that all students are working daily on multiplication in Rocket Math. Math resources can be found online at www.pearsonsuccessnet.com. In Social Studies we will be discussing communities and there will be a fun project that will need to be completed at home. Please keep an eye out for that this month.
We will continue to go outside for recess, as long as the weather permits. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed in a winter jacket, hat, gloves, etc. I also encourage you to send in snacks for your child, but please make sure they are from the Approved Snack List. If you’re interested in donating any items to our classroom, we are in need of tissues and long envelopes. Any support you can offer is greatly appreciated!
I hope you enjoy this short month as the days get longer and hopefully warmer! If you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail.
