I am a 1995 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Currently, I have a BA in Music Education (K-12), and an
ASPS degree in Education. I began my music teaching career at
Northwestern in 1996, and each day is a new adventure for me!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends, singing, and
playing the piano. I like to experiment with writing music and poetry on
occasion, and hope to give more time to those interests in my spare time.
I live in Albion with my husband Michal, and my son Adam. My husband and I both come
from large families; I have four siblings and he has six! Together, we have
three pets: a dog named "Jenna", a cat named "Leo", and a goldfish who is
HUGE, and who doesn't really have an "official" name. Our house guests can't
believe how big he is when they see him!
As a child, I had excellent music teachers. As a teacher, I am dedicated
to following their examples. It is my goal to inspire students to not only
enjoy music, but to understand it as well. If my students are able to create and produce music on
their own, I know I have done my job. Music is a merging of science,
mathematics, culture and emotion, and it is a language of its own. I am
thankful to have the opportunity to share music with my
students.
