Happy Valentine's Day!!
We will celebrate Valentine's Day on Tuesday.  Students may bring in Valentine cards to share with their classmates.  We will enjoy lots of Valentine activities and have some treats to help us enjoy the day!  Students may dress down on Tuesday - wearing red, pink, or purple is encouraged, but not necessary....however, they must wear their sneakers as this is our Gym day!!


We are finishing our Unit on Staying Fit and beginning a Unit all about Folk Tales by reading a traditional tale from Liberia.  We'll read many Folk Tales this week, so if you have a favorite, please feel free to send it in.  Folk Tales are generally made up, traditional tales that have been passed on through storytelling.  They may teach a lesson or explain how things came to be.  Our story is titled Head, Body, Legs.  We will extend this theme into both Science and Social Studies.  In Science, we will extend our learning by discussing how our body parts work together.  This will also connect to our Gym class and Jump Rope for the Heart!!  In Social Studies, we will focus on geography and where stories come from.

Beginning Friday, February 17th, all parents are encouraged to join together in praying the Rosary for the intentions and continued sustenance of St. Bernadette School.  This will take place at 8 a.m. in the church.
