Weekly Updates

Dear SBS Families,

As we embark upon our Lenten Journey, let us turn our minds to practical ways that we can experience God’s love each day. This is a season so often marked by our fasting, or giving up of things. Perhaps this year we can place a greater emphasis on prayer and almsgiving. We are the greatest teachers of the Faith to our children. It is through our example that they come to know God’s love for them more fully. I challenge each of you to come up with concrete ways that you can strengthen your prayer life this Lent. May our Lenten practice of almsgiving include some offering of our time and talents this year as well.

Ways to support SBS - There are some simple ways that you can help support our school. You can help us to obtain new materials for our school, such as, computers, recess equipment, and instructional materials, by clipping UPC’s and beverage caps from Campbell Soup Products. Simply save the labels and bring them to the school office, Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. You can also help us by saving the box tops off of cereal boxes and other products that have the Box Tops Logo on them. For each box top we receive $.10. We have raised over $600 this year with this program. Our goal is to earn $1,000 to put towards Technology Upgrades. Another easy way to support the school is by contributing to the paper recycling dumpster found in the church parking lot. The school receives a monthly check from Paper Retriever based on the amount of tons collected. For 3 tons, we receive $5 a ton; 4 tons, we receive $15 a ton; and 5 tons, $20 a ton.

Rosary – Every Friday at 8 AM the Rosary will be prayed in Church for the intentions of St. Bernadette School. Please consider joining us!
Survey Results - I am most grateful to all of you who took our Parent Satisfaction Survey.  The results and comments will be instrumental in future planning.  Attached is a brief summary.  I assure you that I have read every comment and am in the process of preparing a more detailed report.  Please know that my door is always open, and I am happy to receive any feedback that you might have.
God bless you,
Principal Lien
