Week Twelve…Preparing for Advent!
· Thank you for the items donated for Operation Gobble, Gobble. All is deeply appreciated.
· On November 29th, the first Sunday of Advent, gift tags will be available for Christmas giving to: Women of Hope, St. John’s Hospice, Mother Teresa’s Sisters’ Home, and parish families. If you are unable to be at the weekend Masses to pick up your tags, you may request them through the school. Just fill out the form attached to this week’s communications, or call the school and give the information to Lori. We will send the tags home to you.
· Everyone should have received the letter announcing the departure of the Oblate Sisters after this school year. As sad as we are, we refuse to get caught up in the sadness but will focus, instead, on the wonderful memories we have shared as we will begin to work with enthusiasm to prepare for a smooth transition for next year. It will be great to be forced to clean out closets and drawers and files. There is something very therapeutic about cleaning out “stuff” and starting fresh!
· As soon as we know more about the H1N1 injections, we will inform you. With all the rumors flying, we depend on our school nurse, Heidi, to keep us in the loop and updated with correct information.
· As we move ever so quickly into the “busyness” of Christmas preparations, let us steady our hearts and resolve to not allow the commercialism and busyness to overwhelm us; the mystery of this season is that God has saved us, has become like us, has taken on our weakness. Advent is a grace-filled time to prepare for the true meaning of Christmas, but only if we will allow it.
Have a most blessed week!
