When does my child participate in specials?
Please refer to the calendar section of this website for a complete list of
specials, their days, and times.
--------------------------------------
What do the grade letters represent?
O = Outstanding
VG = Very Good
G = Good
S = Satisfactory
I = Improvement Needed
U = Unsatisfactory
However, more and more assessments will be graded using rubrics so learning
will be assessed to see if the child has acquired the skill or needs more
reenforcement in certain areas.
--------------------------------------
What is a rubric?
A rubric is one way of assessing the children's work. It looks for very
specific skills or areas for that particular piece. Each skill is assigned
a certain amount of points. If the child's work meets all the criteria for
that skill, they get the most amount of points. If not, points are deducted
accordingly. Rubrics do not have to add up to 100. They can be as few or as
many as the person making up the rubric and the assessment feel is necessary.

Do I have to send a note if my child is going home a different way?
YES!! It is extremely important that the teacher and school be notified
about a change in dismissal. We are responsible for each child and don't
want anyone lost or upset. Please do not just email me with the change as
our internet access isn't alway working. If a change comes during the
school hours, call the office and they will make sure I am notified. The
school number is 215-673-5787.
