Dear Parents,
I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas break. Thank you all very much for
the wonderful class gift and all of the special gifts. I very much
appreciate them, your children, and all of you.
This was a special Christmas for me and my husband, as it was our first as
parents. Riley enjoyed her first Christmas and slept soundly through her
first New Years! We were blessed to have spent the break playing together.
As we start our first week of 2010, please be aware of some changes in our
classroom. The children will soon be receiving new copybooks (green) that
have smaller lines. In addition to their new star and smile copybooks, the
children will get a journal (directions will follow).
Now is the time to "take off the training wheels". I will be reading less of
the material on tests. I will continue to read directions on all tests and
will read all Religion tests. Prepare your children by having them read to
you at home.
I am sure I will see lots of sleepy children in the morning!

Dear Parents,
Please continue to remind your children to cough and sneeze in the crook of
their arms. We have had several children out sick/ going home sick. If you
have not sent in hand sanitizer with your child, please feel free to do so.
Also, remember that your child should not return to school until they have
been fever free (and off any fever reducing meds) for 24 hours and they are
feeling better. I will continue to clorox/sanitize desks every day.
If your child is out sick for a few days, please do not worry about making up
the work. For now, just have your child get lots of rest.

Please continue to foster responsibilty at home. Encourage your child to
help make their lunch, pack their own snack, get dressed with little
assistance, etc. This will help to strengthen their independence and teach
the kids to take pride in what they do!
Please remember to send in hand sanitizer with your child. We would also
like every child to bring in a container or Clorox or Lysol wipes.
Dear Parents,
Please have your child practice their reading skills daily. You can read to
them, listen to them read, tell stories using pictures, create lists, etc.
The possibilities are endless!!!
