I have taught at St. Chris for 22 years and third grade for 18 years. I think
third graders are wonderful people.I have taught second grade at St. Chris
also, for 4 years.
I have 4 daughters, five granddaughters, and two grandsons. I graduated from
Trenton State College (now the College of New Jersey). From a very young age,
I arrived at the belief that all children deserve the best start we can give
them in this world. This world can be a hard place. It is our job to protect
their childhood and innocence, encourage their efforts and be good examples
of Christian teachers and parents.
My hobbies are reading, gardening, photography, board games, puzzles, movies
and arts and crafts, museums and traveling.I tutor after school for the
Extended Day Program, sponsored by the Philadelphilia School District,
helping children get up to par on reading and math.
In my younger years, I have been a CCD teacher, a camp counselor, a swimming
instructor, a foster parent and so on. Currently I am a Eucharistic Minister
and visit the homebound when the need arises.
Busy is what I like to be. God is good to me and I thank him daily for good
health and the opportunity to enjoy this life and his many other many
blessings.
The mission for our class is to enable every student to learn through many
different learning styles, to value every person as a creation of God endowed
with his/her own God-given gifts, to develop patience and good manners with
one another as we go through each day, and to develop a knowing and an
appreciation of the Lord's guidance in our daily lives. Our Jeremiah Program
helps us to make the decision to be a kinder and more empathetic community
to all who come to us and to practice actions that show these beliefs. On the
first school day each year, the children are blessed with holy water as they
enter our classroom. We say a prayer that all who enter through our doorway
may be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.
