Announcements for the Week of February 6, 2012

February is upon us, although some days the weather feels like Spring! We had a really productive Catholic School’s Week and there are many congratulations in order for the sixth grade class. Congratulations to David Casper and Jackie Fagan who read their essays at Archbishop Wood this past Sunday. Kudos to Maura, Kelly, Claire, and Katie who represented us in the Religion Bee—great job guys! Congrats to Michael and Ryan for winning Students of the Month for charity and generosity. We are proud of each of you and the entire sixth grade who work hard every day! A big thanks to our students who brought in so many pennies--what a true show of our determination and service!  Sixth grade is a true model of faith, academics, and service and I am proud to be their teacher!

We have a FULL week this week and it is going to be a busy week, as we have a lot to accomplish. Please continue to work as hard as you have been these past few weeks. Your efforts are worth it in the long run. Remember, we are beginningThe Westing Gamethis week by Ellen Raskin. We will learn new reading skills as we embark on this novel. Spelling pages will now be morning work and we will hold off on vocabulary workshop for a few weeks. We will have enough new vocabulary words with this novel. I know everyone will enjoy this suspenseful mystery!!
