Our first outreach project is "Save Lids to Save LIves." We will be
collecting Yoplait pink lids until December 18th. Containers are located in
school and church.

Outreach Committee has organized a collection of old eyeglasses. They will
be sending them to the Lion's Club who will have them repaired and
distributed to those in need.

Officers are collecting names of service men and women from the student body
and parish members.
We will be remembering these brave men and women in our prayers.

Student Government members have invited our local VFW members to lunch on
Nov. 9th to honor them for their service to our country.

Service Committee members are selling chances on backpacks for a girl and
boy, a ring of money, and a box of gift cards. Winners will be drawn on
Family Bingo Night, Nov. 6th.
Service members will also be helping the Home & School Board sell treats and
register students for
prizes.

NOVEMBER UPDATE
Bingo Night was a huge success. Everyone had a great time and great snacks.
We even had a visit from our buldog mascot. Student Government members made
sure all students had tickets in the special lunch drawings and fish bowl.
For the first time, Student Government sold milk to provide a healthy choice
of beverage.

The members of VFW Post 6613 and our own Mr. Chris enjoyed their lunch and
special surprises. The eighth grade decorated the Father Walsh Center with
lots of red, white, and blue. Each veteran had a specially made placemat.
Mr. Gusler prepared a fantastic tray of baked ziti, and Mrs. Hall made an
equally delicious chicken parm which was enjoyed by our guests. Desserts
were also a big hit. Justine and Sam made cookies, and Jeff D. and Taylor
made cakes. For entertainment, Amanda, Cara, Katty, Jared, Jeff D., and Jimmy
created a DVD for our vets which they presented along with a live reading.
Each vet received a copy of the DVD when the luncheon was over. We ended our
celebration by presenting our veterans with cards from the school and a
framed drawing by John Stanaitis of Bonaventure-Clark Post 6613. Our veterans
were very appreciative of everything, and let us never forget what they have
done for us.

DECEMBER UPDATE
Our main focus in December was to bring Christmas joy to those in need.
Grades K-4 took a collection to purchase food gift cards. Grades 5-8 worked
through City Team Ministry. They adopted four families with a total of eight
children. With an amazing collection of $900 from the students in grades 5-
8, members of Student Government made a shopping trip to Toys r Us to help
Santa select the perfect toys for all the children. Each also received a
sweater.
Student Government also asked the school students to make Christmas cards for
the service men and women we have on our prayer list.

JANUARY UPDATE
We began early to write Valentine cards for our service men and women. We
added a little gift with each.
Catholic Schools week will end with the ever-popular Family Bingo Night.
Student Government Service commitee will be there to register students and
sell milk. Jeff M. will host our first Deal or No Deal game during
intermission. Good luck to all those who took chances to be chosen to
participate.

FEBRUARY UPDATE
Student Government officers will be selling Candy Grams. Just purchase a
Valentine form for 50 cents and they will deliver your Valentine with a piece
of candy.
