This year the students will recieve a grade for art. Teachers will use a
rubric to help with the assessment. Students will be assessed on effort,
responsibility using materials, focus on the task , and the creative growth
that they exhibit.
Art is a near and dear subject for me, as it is to many students, and
we shall be exploring many methods, materials, artists, and inspirations this
year. I have art smocks in the classroom, because we artists can be messy at
times. As Henri Matisse said, "CREATIVITY takes courage"
Art is extremely important to the developmental level of the fourth grader
and is a self-esteem builder. "Art washes away from the soul the dust of
everyday life" Pablo Picasso
