Parents receive in the Sacrament of
Matrimony, the grace and the MINISTRY of the Christian education of their
children to whom they transmit and bear witness to human and religious values.
The educational activity which is both
human and religious is a true ministry through which the Gospel is transmitted
and radiated so that family
life is transformed into a journey of faith and the school of Christian life.

It is necessary that religious instruction
appear as a scholastic discipline with the same systematic demands and the
same rigor as other disciplines. It must present the Christian messaage & the
Christian event with the same seriousness and the same depth with which other
diciplines present their knowledge. {#73

St. Gabriel Parish Staff formalized a
Sacramental Policy and its purpose is to clearly state the process for
spiritual development in the matter of passing on the life of faith to our
children.
To receive the sacraments of
Reconciliation, Eucharist & Confirmation at St. Gariel Parish:
1. The child must attend Religious
Education classes for two {2} consecutive years {this will enable a continuity
in skill development and knowledge.
2. The child must complete assignments on
time. {these assignments will give administration/teachers an idea of
how well your child is understanding the necessary information}
In addition, parents/guardians must attend
one mandatory parent meeting scheduled for each sacrament in order that we may
update your knowledge on the theology and practical aspects of the sacraments.
The Parish Staff, in collaboration with
the parents, reserve the right for individual consideration with regard to the
reception of the sacraments.
