What is the difference between a dress-down day and a dress-up day?

Dressing down means that students may wear blue jeans, appropriate t-shirts,
and tennis shoes. Dressing up means that none of the above clothing items
are permitted. We suggest that students wear what they would wear on an
important occasion. As always, anything that would be considered offensive
or inappropriate in any other way is not allowed.
