APPLE OF MY EYE: Congratulations to our latest “Apple of My Eye” winners: Brady Bell, Alexa Corey, Daniel Dutkiewicz, Emily DuHaime and Carter Junod.
THANK YOU, MRS. GREENBERG!: We have received word that our long-time school nurse, Mrs. Marlene Greenberg, will not be returning to SJR next year. Mrs. Greenberg has been re-assigned to other schools in the Central Bucks School District. Mrs. Greenberg has been a special part of our school community for nineteen years. We are deeply grateful to her for sharing her special brand of TLC with all of us!
AN ANSWER TO PRAYERS: For many years, the parishioners of St. Robert parish have prayed for an increase in devotions to the priesthood – particularly for a vocation from St. Robert’s parish. Prayers have been answered! Mr. Jonathan DeMent, an alumnus of SJR, has been accepted into St. Charles Seminary. He will begin his studies in September. We congratulate Jonathan, his family, and his parish family!
We will hold you in prayer in the coming years!
WE WILL MISS YOU, FATHER MATT!: Father Matt will be leaving St. Robert’s parish this summer. Next school year, he will be working as the School Minister at Conwell-Egan High School. Father will reside at Immaculate Conception parish in Levittown. The weekend of June 15th and June 16th there will be farewell receptions for Father after each of the Masses at St. Robert’s.
FIRST FRIDAY: On Friday of this week, we will attend Mass at 9am. As always, all are welcome to join us!
A GENTLE REMINDER: This Friday, there will be no hot lunch for the children. Please remember that all of the children will need to have lunch with them on Friday. (A special “thank you” to our hot lunch mothers who so faithfully made Fridays a favorite day of the week for all!)
CLASS OF 2013: On Wednesday, June 12th, our eighth grade graduation will take place after the 7pm Mass. We say a fond farewell to our graduates who will move on to high school. FIELD DAY/FAMILY BBQ: Next Monday, SJR will participate in Field Day activities. This is a day filled with cooperative, fun activities. The children will be given information about whether they will be on the maroon team or grey team.
Lunch on Field Day is provided for everyone by the Home and School Association. Family members are welcome to join us for lunch. We ask that families who attend donate a side dish or dessert to share with others.
Those who have attended our Field Day in the past can attest to the family-friendly day it is! It is a wonderful way to celebrate the completion of a successful school year.
Volunteers are needed for our annual Family BBQ on Monday, June 10th. If you are available to help out for a few hours,
please contact Maria Corkery at 215-915-0295 or mrsmac07@msn.com. Thank you!

SUMMER READING CHALLENGE: Amazing! That’s what our SJR student readers are! Before our summer vacation even begins, we have amassed over 30,000 minutes of reading in our Summer Reading Challenge. Mrs. Pfeil says that we are well on our way to taking top honors for the state!
Remember to be sure to check the SJR Library website throughout the summer for reading ideas, websites, and activities. There will be plenty ideas for those days when “I’m Bored” comes to visit your homes!
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!: A special thank you to the dads in our school community! Please know that we are all very grateful for the special part you play in our lives. To all of the fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and father-figures in our lives, we offer the following blessing:
God, bless all the fathers in the world.
Guide them to be good role models
and loving to all their children.
Help them to be a father like You are.
Give them grace and patience
to handle situations in a loving way.
Amen!

JUST A THOUGHT: This is the final newsletter of our school year. Once again, our year was filled with many smiles, adventures, some tears, and always many memories we will hold forever.
As we plan for a summer of rest and relaxation, let me leave you with a prayer of blessing for summer days and months:
Take time to have fun;
it's God's way of teaching you your strengths.
Take time to grow yourself;
only you can grow you.
Take time to trust yourself
God trusts you.
Take time to be self-reliant;
it is better than being dependent
Take time to share with others;
they will bless you, and you will bless them
Take time to have hope,
you are a child of God.
Let's put ourselves into the hands of the Lord,
and pray that God will bless us and our families
during the wonderful months of summer.
May we all help make our homes places of relaxation,
joy, love, peace and safety.
May we be generous and considerate,
not thinking only about ourselves,
but helping others enjoy the blessings of a summertime.
Lord God, Creator of all things,
guide our steps and strengthen our hearts,
during these months of summer and vacation days.
Grant us refreshment of mind and body.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen!
Thank you for a wonderful year! Have a wonderful summer!
SJR SCHOOL: PROUD OF OUR PAST,
FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE,
MAKING A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!
