Announcements

* Reminder: The children will be attending the performance of Peter Pan at
the Arden Theater on Wednesday. Lunch will be eaten when we return--please
send a packed lunch to school that day.

* Tomorrow the children will have their classroom Christmas party where
Polyanna gifts will be exchanged. If anyone still wants to send in cards
for the class, there is still time. Please do not address the envelopes
with a specific name. We will meet with our grade buddies on Wednesday
  afternoon.

* Please check your child's supplies. I know that tape wasn't on the supply
list, but I am asking that the children add it to their supplies. Since we
do not have all our workbooks, more worksheets are necessary. If each
child has their own roll of tape, less classroom time will be used to
distribute it. Thank you for all your help and cooperation!

* Sending in more disinfectant wipes and/or hand sanitizer for the classroom
would be greatly appreciated. Please do not send in scented sanitizer.
Every little bit of eliminating germs helps!

* Pretzels and juice will be sold weekly. The money for both must be sent in
the Thursday before in two separate envelopes. Each child must bring in
their own money; families cannot be placed together. Cost for pretzels: $2
per week. Cost for juice: $3 per week. No refunds will be issued for
  absences.

* This year Saint Martha's will be using Communication Envelopes. They will
be sent home every Wednesday. This is to help eliminate having to sign
papers every night and increase the communication between home and school.
The fourth grade will also be using these to send home tests. However,
we are still asking that every test be signed individually. After
reviewing the contents of the folder and filling out any necessary
paperwork, please sign the white sheet on the front of the envelope.

Please note: If necessary, some papers may be sent home other than on
  Wednesdays!

* Please make sure all of your child's belongings are labeled. This is
especially helpful with sweaters and gym sweatshirts. Also, please label
all envelopes with your child's name, room number, and what it is
regarding. This makes the secretarial work easier. Thank you!

* A new policy regarding cell phones will begin this year. All students who
bring a cell phone to school are asked to turn it in to their teacher at
the beginning of the school day. They will then be locked away and
returned to the students at dismissal. We are asking that the cell phones
be placed in a ziploc bag labeled with your child's name. Since this will
be based on the honor code, we ask that you stress the adherence to this
policy with your child. Any child who fails to turn in their cell phone
and is caught will face consequences. We understand the need for cell
phones before and after school; we are just trying to eliminate any
problems with them during school hours. Thank you for your cooperation!
