HOMEWORK FOR NOV.  30 – DEC.  4
GRADE 1  ROOM 114

                             Monday 

H Copybook – Print Telling Sentences on your top line and under-
             line it in red pencil. Write a telling sentence for the
             first 5 spelling words on The Farmer in the Hat                 
             paper. Remember to number your sentences and
             underline the word used. Our spelling test will be
             this Friday.  
Math workbook – page 28. We will have our test on chapter 5 this
                Thursday.
Phonics – review all the short vowels for a quiz this Thursday. 
Reading – practice reading the first 2 columns of long a words in
          the back of your H copybook.
Religion – light the first purple candle on your Advent wreath by
           coloring the flame.
                 REMINDER:  FIELD TRIP MONEY IS DUE

                             Tuesday 

H Copybook – Print Asking Sentences on your top line and
             underline it. Write an asking sentence for the last 5
             spelling words.
Math workbook – page 29
Reading – Practice reading the last 2 columns of long a words.
        REMEMBER LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE BACK TOMORROW

                            Wednesday 

Reading – Practice reading the list of soft c and soft g words in
          the back of your H Copybook..
          Try to memorize the rule:  When c is followed by e
          or i, it makes the sound of /s/.  When g is followed
          by e or i, it makes the sound of /j/.

                            Thursday 

Reader – Re-read the story The Farmer in the Hat.  We will have 
         story quiz tomorrow.

Dear Parents,
	Friday is the close of the first trimester for grades. I’m sorry for the
number of quizzes and tests this week. We have been working on the short
vowels since September and math is really a review of the last few chapters.
