Hello!! Welcome to First Grade in Room 102!! First Grade is the best!

Merry Christmas! Happy Birthday Jesus!

12/23
Dear Parents,

I would like to personally thank each of you for a successful craft day and
Christmas party. Thank you for sending in all the items needed and I
appreciate all your cooperation during this busy time of year. I wish you a
very Merry Christmas and hope Santa is good to you this year.

There are a few requests I am asking you to do over break. First, I need your
child to clean out their green pencil case and throw away broken crayons or
pencils. I also am noticing a few students do not have glue sticks or the
glue sticks are broken. The children do a lot of gluing in the classroom and
will need two glue sticks for the rest of the year. Please purchase these for
the New Year. Lastly, we are in need of more pencils. Would you please send
in a package of sharpened pencils. We do a lot of writing in first grade.

Thank you for your continued support and help. Enjoy the holidays!

Miss Caruolo

Our Christmas party was the BEST!! The children had loads of fun making their
gingerbread houses, eating delicious snacks and treats, and playing games,
such as pin the nose on Rudolph and the Santa relay. Yesterday afternoon the
children got a visit from the big man up north...SANTA!! He read "The Night
Before Christmas" and wrote letters to every boy and girl in the class. Our
friends from 8th grade also joined in on the celebration and stayed for
cookies. Thank you to all those who sent in items for both the party in the
morning and Santa's visit in the afternoon. We really appreciate it!! *A
special thank you to all our volunteers for helping out with both the party in
the morning and for Santa's visit in the afernoon especially Mrs. Onders, Mrs.

Please encourage your child to participate in Sunday Mass by singing hymns
and reciting prayers. We say numerous prayers in class each day. They
should also be able to recite prayers and respond at Mass too. Thank you for
helping your child grow in their faith.

**As the holidays quickly approach us and we look ahead, each child will need

child will need an empty shoe box with a lid by December 4th. Please label
the box with your child’s first and last names.**

Good job!
I have seen a great improvement in the children’s handwriting since September.
Thank you for working with your child at home to develop their handwriting
skills. Please remind your child to write their letters and numbers the
correct way.

Please practice tying shoes with your child. Our goal is to have everyone be
able to tie their shoes by the time the New Year arrives.

covered in clear contact paper. Thank you!

Thank you Mrs. Onders and Mrs. Bucci for organizing everything and thank you
to all our volunteers who helped out with the party. The children and I really
appreciate it! The children loved the craft, the fun games, and the snack.

HELP OUR SCHOOL!
Don't forget to clip and save the Campbell's soup labels, Box tops for
Education, and empty print cartridges to be recycled. You can drop them in
the office or send them in with your first grader.

It is important to check the hot lunch calendar and information on
the school web page. We are using a new lunch program this year so there are
a few changes in how the ordering process will work.

**Some of the children do not have a glue stick. Please purchase a glue stick
and have them bring it with them to school. Thank you!!

Stay tuned for more info...

See you soon,
Miss Caruolo
