The Christmas season is over and, liturgically speaking, we are in Ordinary Time. This can be translated into our everyday life as well. The holiday partying and gift giving is behind us. There are no major celebrations ahead of us. We go about our ordinary daily routines. But it is in those ordinary, quiet times of our lives that God seems to whisper to us and work through us most often. One minor celebration does happen this month: Valentine’s Day. This is a day when we celebrate the love we share with the important people in our lives. As Catholics, daily expressions of love and care for others should be part of the very fabric of our being. Perhaps, we can add to our list of New Year’s resolutions to not let the sun set on our anger, or let a day go by, without telling those we love how lucky we are to have them in our lives.
