Not many people have ever heard of the small town of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania where I grew up.
Port Allegany is about 30 miles from the New York state line. The population of Port Allegany is
approximately 2,200. (Hard to believe?) There aren't many places to shop like here in Pittsburgh! I
truly love country living, it's so peaceful there!
I was mainstreamed until I was twelve years old and then I transferred to WPSD. I graduated in 1994
and I am proud of be an alumnus of WPSD!
I graduated from Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1999 and
continued on to earn my Master's degree in Deaf Education at Bloomsburg University in 2000. I
completed my student teaching at the Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children in
Winter/Spring 1999. This year is my tenth year of teaching, I ENJOY teaching in the Lower School
Department. (I taught preschool during my first two years at WPSD).
